Tjitske Colenbrander studied Medicine at the University of Amsterdam and graduated as a medical doctor in 2009. She then worked in addiction care in clinics and outpatient settings. In 2020, she became a certified addiction physician (KNMG) after completing the Master in Addiction Medicine (MiAM) at Radboud University in Nijmegen.

Since 2023, Tjitske has been working at PARC, focusing on her PhD research on the efficacy  and safety of sustained-release dexamphetamine for cocaine use disorder (REDUCE).
